New Chair, New Shoes, and New Words

Addison and I went on a shopping trip to the Peddler's mall in Middletown on Friday. That place is huge and just fun to waste some time in. There is a lot of junk but amidst the junk there are some hidden treasures. I found the most precious pink recliner chair, just Addison's size. Lately, she has wanted up on the couch with Kevin and I. I thought this chair would be a perfect addition to our living room. Addison was smiling from ear to ear when I told her she was getting a big girl chair. We brought it home and set it up and sure enough Addison was sitting in it in no time. She was so excited to show it to Grandma and Poppie later that night. Pooh loves to sit in it too! Last night her "teeth" (like I said before, I say that and nothing ever pops up" were hurting so, we let her get up from bed and sit in her chair and have some warm milk and a small snack before bed. She sat in her chair happily drinking milk and nibbling on goldfish. I get super excited about good finds in stores. This find made my day and Addi's too!
My mom and dad kept Addison while Kevin and I went out to eat at Bw3's with our friends Holly and Jill. Dinner was so good! Is it bad to get excited about food and eating? After our well needed dinner out, we decided to go to Shoe Carnival to look for a new pair of shoes for Addison. She has grown out of her size 2 and desperately needed to get a new pair of size 3 shoes. My mom made fun of the first pair of tennis shoes I picked for Addison, saying they looked too Orthopedic. So I was on a mission to get a pair of cute, girlie, "non-orthopedic" shoes. Can I just say mission accomplished! We found the most adorable pair of pink sparkly sketchers with hearts on them. They were $24.99 and Kevin was appalled at the price. He thought it was highway robbery. Holly being the good friend she is, asked the cashier at the counter for a discount. To my surprise she charged us $18.00 for the shoes. I was so excited. I guess it never hurts to ask for a discount.
We took the shoes home to Addison who was running around in a onesie. I love her little chubby legs! Grandma had just changed her and hadn't managed to get her pants back on. I showed her the shoes and man was she excited! We had to put them on immediately. She kept saying heart pointing to the hearts on the shoes. She had to show them to me, Grandma, Poppie, Kevin, Jill and Holly. She danced and pranced around the room for a good 30 minutes in them. She even wanted to wear them to bed. The first thing she wanted to do this morning is put new her shoes on. The most simple things in life make her happy. I don't think Kevin and I will have to do much to keep this kid happy- Give he a new pair of shoes and show her a dog and this kids is as happy as a clam! Forget Disney World we are going to Shoe Carnival!
Addison's vocabulary has just exploded lately. My brother and I were watching a video on youtube about a kid named Charlie and Addison said "Char-lee". I thought maybe my ears didn't quite hear her correctly and sure enough "Char-lee" again. She has been saying it sporadically ever since. Kevin, Addison and I were in the car the other day and Addison just busted out with "Cow- Mooo". I turned around wide eyed and said,"that's right a cow does say moo." I guess she picked that up from the millions of times we have sung Old MacDonald to her. She can say fork and spoon and can identify objects in her "Objects around the house" book. You ask her where a certain object is an she will point to it. She has really started to show a huge interest in reading and in books. I absolutely love it! I want her to read and to be a good reader.
Being a mom is such a rewarding job. Not a day goes by where I don't think about how lucky I am to be able to share these precious moments with her. Moments that are gone in the blink of an eye. My baby is already 15 months old. Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday I was waking up ever 2-3 hours to feed her and now she is walking , talking, and getting bigger by the day. Thank you God for hearing my prayers and allowing me this opportunity to watch my baby grow up.
