A few years ago at breakfast my Grandpa told us that Bass Pro Shop had free pictures with Santa. So for the last three year we have taken Addison to see Santa for free and you even get to keep one photo. It is a brilliant idea. They get people in the store to see Santa and the store is way to cool to turn around and leave so we always stay and look around. They have a huge fish tank with massive size fish inside, holiday crafts, games to play, a pretend wilderness to walk through, an archery shooting booth, a snowball fight, and lots more. They have the cutest clothes and boots ever and pretty cool jewelry too. I love the place. I know most people here the name and think RED NECK but while yes there are some red neck things it really is a very neat place. We went last night despite all the weather warnings. We made it there and home before any of the freezing rain even started.
Addison was very excited to meet Santa. Her anticipation increased when we got to the head of the line. There was an elf welcoming us to Santa's wonderland with a gingerbread man silly band. Soon enough it was Addison turn and she walked right up to Santa and hopped into his lap. She has never cried or acted scared of Santa or any character dressed up for that matter. She does really well and even had a conversation with Santa. He asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she said, "A New Teddy Bear for Mommy and a Car for Daddy. Pretty even don't you think? I get a teddy bear and daddy a car. I'm teasing. I think it was incredibly sweet that instead of thinking of herself and what she wants she wanted Kevin and I to have a gift. Santa remarked on how cute and very sweet she was and gave her a candy cane and we were on our way- to explore that is!
The backgrounds and decorations they have there are fantastic. Two years ago we had Holly come with us and we used their decorations to do our family Christmas cards. They have this really cool green truck outside, a Frosty, Reindeer, and much much more.
We always have a really good time at Bass Pro and will continue to visit as long as Santa pictures are free. If you haven't been it is definitely worth a trip to Indiana to see. While you are there pick up a stuffed fish pillow, clay pigeons, and fly fishing overalls for that special loved one on your Christmas list!
