The Newest Addition to the Kuhn Family!

We are so happy to announce that Avery William Kuhn was born today, November 18,2009 at 2 pm. He weighed in at 7 lbs and 1 ounce and was 19 inches long. Baby and Mommy are doing great! Addison can't get enough pictures of Avery. I showed her this picture and she kept saying "more baby Avery". I can't wait for her to meet him. She literally won't know what to do with herself because my other sister-in-law Dana, is due pretty much anytime now. This baby is a surprise so we won't know the gender until s(he) gets here. So one down , one to go!

Congratulations Emily and Keith you will make great parents. Avery is a very lucky boy to have such a loving family welcoming him here. Parenthood is a wild, crazy, sometimes sleepless, fun, hard, most wonderful ride you will ever take. We look forward to loving Avery and watching him grow. We are always here when you need anything especially a night to yourselves or some sleep!

Uncle Chuck Came to Visit

It has been a few weeks now but, Uncle Chuck came from Texas to visit. On his list of things to do, he wanted to see little miss Addison. Addison was being unbelievable quiet for the first part of his visit. My uncle has the biggest heart. He is always helping others and doing nice things. For no reason at all, he bought Addison a gift. The gift was a furry monkey. We of course named him Boots (that is Dora's friend monkey's name). Boots isn't just any monkey. He can eat, clap, squeal, and even has a bottle for feeding time. Addison loves that the monkey gets the hiccups and burps. It sure was nice to spend some time with my uncle. It is really hard having family spread all over the US and even in Europe. We are such a close knit family. I love that Addison gets to grow up in such a big loving family (both sides) She is a very lucky girl to be surrounded by so many people that love her. We really enjoyed your visit Uncle Chuck. We love and miss you, Angela and the boys. Thanks again for "Boots" he is a great addition to our family. I think he resembles Kevin a lot!

Terrible Mess

So, remember last week when we painted? Well, Addison begged to paint again later that day. While she was painting Emily called to give us the latest and greatest on baby Avery. I guess I wasn't as attentive as I should have been because look what happened.....What a terrible mess!

Raggedy Addi

So I was looking down in the basement and stumbled upon a Raggedy Ann doll. This doll has very special significance because my Mimi made for me when I was young. The doll is not your average size doll. She is super sized. She always sat in a miniature rocker in my room growing up. Looking at the doll I thought that maybe the clothes would fit Addison. So when Addison woke up from nap we played "Dress Up". You can ask my mom, I loved dress up when I was young. I would literally try on everything I owned and do a fashion show. I still kind of do the same thin now. It makes Kevin crazy. He always says,"what was wrong with what you just had on?" OK back to the story.... I tried the doll clothes and I was right it fit perfectly. Too bad I didn't think about that before Halloween! She looked like an absolute well, DOLL. I snapped a few pictures of her in the outfit and with both my Raggedy Ann doll and the one she got from Grammy and Poppie.

Poppie The Personal Shopper

My Dad is the absolute sweetest Grandpa. He is so thoughtful and is always pick up cute little things for Addison. He and mom went to The Summit to shop last Sunday. Mom went her way and Dad went his. My Dad went shopping at Children's Place and Gap Kids. He picked out two super adorable outfits. Addison was so happy to receive these gifts from her Poppie. It was so sweet of him. Addison is such a lucky girl!

Autumn Beauty

I was excited to take pictures of Addison outside under the beautiful tree in the backyard. Last year, I took pictures of her out there and couldn't wait to capture Addison's response on camera this year. Unfortunately, I kept waiting for the leaves on this particular tree to turn and when they finally did they fell off in a days time. I did however manage to get some beautiful photos of Addison in the leaves and with the beautiful scenery our backyard naturally provided for us. She is wearing the most precious shirt from Holly. Holly recently went on a cruise to Mexico (lucky dog) and brought this adorable shirt back for Addison. The weather was so nice. She enjoyed the fruits of nature and I enjoyed capturing it all on camera.

Painting By Addi

Nothing can inspire art work better then a crisp Autumn day. After a brisk morning walk, Addison and I decided to paint. I found some really cute canvases and acrylic paint at the Dollar Tree. When I asked Addison if she wanted to paint she was thrilled with the idea. After I striped her of clothes, I placed her in her chair and the artistic juices just started flowing. She had so much fun slopping paint all over her tiny canvas. She mixed the paint and told me the colors as she used them. She was especially fond of red and yellow. I really enjoyed watching her paint in every direction, using any of the colors she wanted, getting good and messy. She kept reporting that her hands were messy. I had to keep assuring her it was OK and we would wash up at the end. The final product was nothing short of a masterpiece.

Hillcrest Ave.

I had heard before about a street called Hillcrest Avenue where most people on the street decorate their yards for Halloween. I never gave it much thought until my Grandpa mentioned it thinking Addison may enjoy it. Kevin, Addison and I decide to ride by and give it a look. We were pleasantly surprised! Some of the families put so much effort into decking out their yards for children to enjoy. It was so neat. Since it was so very close to Addison's bedtime we decided to come back the next night and walk the street. The following night we all jumped into the car and headed to Hillcrest. Addison was so delighted to see the ghosts and goblins. There was so much to see and the pictures I took don't do any justice. Their was tons of families walking the street trying to get a peek at the decorations. Not every family on the street participated but about 80% of them did in some way or another. It was such a fun, free thing to do as a family. Kevin and I decided that we would like to make this a yearly thing that we do as a family. Next year maybe Hayden and Kayla could join us. It made me want to move to Hillcrest so we could decorate our yard really scary. The I thought about all the bags of candy they must go through on Halloween. I have heard that they basically have to close down the street on Halloween due to the massive amount of trick-or-treaters.

Hayden's 2nd Birthday

It has been a few weeks now but on Oct 24 we celebrated Addison's cousin, Hayden's 2nd birthday. It was such a fun time. My sister-in-law Dana, Hayden's mom, is pregnant with her second baby. The gender is a surprise but Dana thinks it is a boy. Who knows? I guess we will be finding out shortly.

Hayden has a super cute Monkey cake. Addison couldn't wait to get a taste! The kids kids decorated pumpkins with plastic face. It is a super cute ideas being that his birthday is so close to Halloween and the kids can't use knives to carve. Last year Addison's pumpkin was a silly/scary pumpkin and this year we made a pumpkin pig. The piggy was really cute complete with curly piggy tail and all.
Hayden enjoyed blowing out the candles, eating cake and opening gifts. Addison hasn't been to many birthday parties so she doesn't know much about candles and opening gifts. I guess we will see how she reacts to it all on her special day. She is however a huge fan of the birthday song and sang it for days after the party.

It is so hard to believe my little nephew is a thriving toddler. I remember his birth day so vividly. I couldn't believe how small he was. I remember holding him and feeling Addison kicking me on the inside. She always kicked when I held another baby. It was almost like she was telling Hayden she would be out shortly to play. Addison has such a love for Hayden. She talks about him all the time. She pretends to talk to him on the phone. I know she will love her two new cousins just as much.

Happy 2nd birthday Hayden. We love you so much and look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you. May you never think Addison has cooties!

A face is worth a million words!

Kevin snapped these pictures while I was cleaning house. I just think they are so funny. It looks like a comic strip or something. I think she wanted to hold the camera and Kevin kept taking pictures of her. Her face is so dirty. Daddy isn't as concerned with her appearance as Mommyis. The first I imagine she is saying, " What do you think you doing". The second one is her saying," Oh jeez" and the third one is "No pictures please". Daddy is just like the paparazzi. Even when you don't want your picture taken they keep right on shooting.
