Frosty The Snowman

Here is some footage of Addison singing her most favorite Christmas song. We borrowed a CD from Hillary with Frosty on it. Thanks Hillary for letting us use it. Addison would probably listen to it 1000 times a day if I let her. I heard her in her room singing Frosty at the top of her lungs but couldn't sneak up to catch it on film in time. So I requested she sing it for me. Here is her interpretation of the words:

Frosty the Snowman is a jolly happy soul (sometimes a jolly happy snowman)
With a corn cob pipe and a bupin (sometimes button) nose and two eyes made of cold.

A Family Christmas Tradition

Yesterday, Holly gave Addison her Christmas gift. The gift was more of a family gift which, will now be a family tradition that we will continue for years to come. She gave us the "elf on the shelf". I'm all about fun family traditions so I'm stoked about the gift. Here is an excerpt from the Elf on the shelf website, it explains how whole thing works;

So first thing first, you have to choose a name for your Elf. I asked Addison what she wanted to name her Elf and she said Christmas. I think Christmas is a great and very appropriate name. We decided to call him "Chris" for short. We read the book about how Chris will visit Santa each night. We told Addison that Chris will tell Santa if she is being naughty or nice. She seemed to really like the idea. First thing this morning, we looked all over the house for Chris. We found him hanging on Addison's stocking. Addison was so excited to find Chris. I'm sure her enthusiasm for finding Chris will only grow through the years. I'm so excited to adopt this as a tradition and look forward to continuing it over the years and passing it on to our kids and even grand kids. Such a cute idea. Thanks for the gift Holly. It will be treasured for years to come!

A Message from Santa to Addison

So I found the cutest website that allowes you to plug in info and Santa sends your kid a message. Addison and I have already watched the video several times. She really likes to talk to Santa and the fact that he says her name is the icing on the cake. Such a cute idea! We will be revisiting this site next year. Light Up Wesport Village

I saw on TV the other day that they were having a Light Up Westport Village festival.Kevin and I thought it would be a fun Christmas festivity to do with Addison. She has been asking for a few weeks now to "see Santa" Santa and Mrs. Clause were be there for pictures (which the line was way to long), there were sleigh rides, the stores were open, Christmas Singers, the Mayor was there. Addison enjoyed the count down to lighting up the tree. When it was lit everyone clapped and cheered. It was fun but terribly cold. We wanted to stay but poor Addison was a Popsicle. She did however tell Santa and Mrs. Clause hi and blew them a kiss, both returned the gesture. This year just saying hi and seeing them was enough. Next year we will most likely have to wait in line. I think we will try and see Santa again on Sunday and have her picture made with him. Last year she was so excited about Santa and this year the idea of him is wonderful, but actually sitting on his lap may be a different story. She calls all decorations "Christmas" and tells us Santa will bring presents. She said she wants a sucker from Santa. Is is always going to be this easy to please her? Do you think when she is older a sucker for Christmas will satisfy her? I guess if we raise her with the real meaning of Christmas in her heart then a sucker will be more then enough. Tonight was fun and I'm glad that Addison enjoyed herself even if it was a short trip. I only got a family photo and two shots of Addison outside of a place called the "Comfy Cow" it is a dessert shop. I love cows so I had to get a shot of Addison on top of the cute cow statue.

Welcome Baby Landon

Landon Alexander Kuhn was born yesterday afternoon. He weighed in a 8.2 oz and was 20 inches long. He is the largest of all the Kuhn babies! Kevin and I got to visit with Landon, Dana ,and Jeff last night. He is such a beautiful and sweet baby. There is no better feeling then holding a sweet little baby. I just makes me realize how big my baby is.

Dana , Jeff, and Hayden we are so happy that you now have Landon in your family and ours. We have lots of love to give and can't wait to watch him lean and grow. It will be fun to watch he and Avery grow up together and Hayden and Addison continue to grow up together. I don't have to tell you how great it is to be parents, you are old pros. Actually, this time around you can tell us what it is like to have a family of four. I can ask you for advice and how the dynamics of the family change with two kids. I know Hayden will make a great big brother, just as Jeff did to Kevin and Keith.

My hopes for the future are that all the kids grow up close and are always healthy (and maybe someday there is another girl grandchild :)

We couldn't be more thrilled to have another nephew. We sure have enjoyed Hayden! We love you all and look forward to your new adventure! We will always be here to help and support you along the way. If you need a break we would love to help. Congratulations!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Here are a few pictures of the party decor. Kevin and I both put a lot of love and work into Addison's 2nd birthday party. It was well worth all the work. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I have never seen Addison in a better more excited mood. I will post some more pictures a little later. (If anyone has pictures from the party and wouldn't mind e-mailing them to me that would be great.)

Two

So another year has come and gone, and my once tiny little 6 pound baby is a thriving 25 pound toddler. I have to keep reminding myself that she isn't a big girl quite yet. She is and always will be my little baby. Looking back over the past two years of her life I can only smile. She has brought tremendous joy into our lives. I can't say I regret a single moment. The sleepless nights, the nasty diapers,the smiles, breastfeeding, baby food, sniffles, crawling, walking, giggling, first words,and even the not so glamorous moments, I wouldn't trade for anything. She is the most precious gift from God. I still catch myself getting excited to get her up in the morning. I even start missing her after I put her to bed at night. There is no greater gift then having a child. Addison has taught me so much. I now know the real meaning of patience, love, and happiness. Addison Jacqueline Kuhn, I love you so very much and not a day goes by that our love for you doesn't grow. I hope your second birthday was so much fun. I enjoyed all that went into making your day special, though I know you won't remember all the details or maybe even the day itself,I will never forget how happy you were on this day and how happy you birth has made us! We love you to the moon and back.

Early Birthday Party with Holly and Brian

Addison got to celebrate her b-day early. Holly went to SC to visit her family for Turkey Day and had to miss Addi's party. Being the sweet and thoughtful person that she is, she and Brian had a mini birthday party for her. They brought balloons, cupcakes, and a present. Addison had a great time. She loved the singing Dora card they picked out for her (so much that she broke the card listening to it so much). Brian worked really hard on wrapping the gift and it looked professional wrapped! They got her a Dora tent with a tunnel. Addison loves her tent. We both like to get inside and play. I tried to go through the tunnel and got stuck so I will leave the tunnel crawling to Addison. Obviously from the pictures she loved the purple cupcake. Thanks Holly and Brian for making Addison's 2nd birthday so special. She is lucky to have you both in her life!

A visit with Avery

A week ago this past Sunday Kevin and I headed to Northern KY to see our new nephew, Avery. Kevin's Grandpa, Deanna, Paul, and Emily's mom were already there lending a helping hand to the new parents. Keith and Emily are wonderful parents! Avery is an absolute doll. He was so tiny. It's funny because Addison was a bit smaller then he was but I can't even remember Addison being so small. It is funny how quickly you forget. I really enjoyed holding him in my arms. Emily is a great mom and was beaming. I snapped a few pics of Kevin and his Grandpa with Avery but forgot to get any of me. Poor Addison had to stay with Grammy and Poppie on account she had a runny nose. We had a wonderful visit. I had a hard time leaving that little cutie. I can't wait to hold him again. We are looking forward to meeting our new niece or nephew any day now. My sister Dana is due at any time. Our family just keeps growing. I can't wait to see how much fun family gatherings will be from now on. I love big families!

The Newest Addition to the Kuhn Family!

We are so happy to announce that Avery William Kuhn was born today, November 18,2009 at 2 pm. He weighed in at 7 lbs and 1 ounce and was 19 inches long. Baby and Mommy are doing great! Addison can't get enough pictures of Avery. I showed her this picture and she kept saying "more baby Avery". I can't wait for her to meet him. She literally won't know what to do with herself because my other sister-in-law Dana, is due pretty much anytime now. This baby is a surprise so we won't know the gender until s(he) gets here. So one down , one to go!

Congratulations Emily and Keith you will make great parents. Avery is a very lucky boy to have such a loving family welcoming him here. Parenthood is a wild, crazy, sometimes sleepless, fun, hard, most wonderful ride you will ever take. We look forward to loving Avery and watching him grow. We are always here when you need anything especially a night to yourselves or some sleep!

Uncle Chuck Came to Visit

It has been a few weeks now but, Uncle Chuck came from Texas to visit. On his list of things to do, he wanted to see little miss Addison. Addison was being unbelievable quiet for the first part of his visit. My uncle has the biggest heart. He is always helping others and doing nice things. For no reason at all, he bought Addison a gift. The gift was a furry monkey. We of course named him Boots (that is Dora's friend monkey's name). Boots isn't just any monkey. He can eat, clap, squeal, and even has a bottle for feeding time. Addison loves that the monkey gets the hiccups and burps. It sure was nice to spend some time with my uncle. It is really hard having family spread all over the US and even in Europe. We are such a close knit family. I love that Addison gets to grow up in such a big loving family (both sides) She is a very lucky girl to be surrounded by so many people that love her. We really enjoyed your visit Uncle Chuck. We love and miss you, Angela and the boys. Thanks again for "Boots" he is a great addition to our family. I think he resembles Kevin a lot!

Terrible Mess

So, remember last week when we painted? Well, Addison begged to paint again later that day. While she was painting Emily called to give us the latest and greatest on baby Avery. I guess I wasn't as attentive as I should have been because look what happened.....What a terrible mess!
