So I have wanted to blog for the past couple of days but kept getting interrupted by one thing or another. Addison got to spend some much needed time with Paw Paw and De De last week. I had a doctors appointment on Tuesday so Addison got to visit with them. She loved playing in Hayden's cardboard house so much I decided to get her a play house of her very own. I found it at The Peddler's Mall- I love that place! There is a very cute "Big Girl Bed" I have my eye on but hopefully she won't be needing it anytime soon. I actually felt bad because De De babysat for Addi on Thursday and brought her a huge box for us to make her a house of her own, but she already had her playhouse. Thanks for the sweet thought De De! Unfortunately, I made my Doctor's appointment on Tuesday and Hayden wasn't there for Addison to play with.
De De said Addison was board with all the boy toys- tools, cars and stuff. I think Addison is tired of toys in general- she would much rather play with empty cartons, toilet paper, empty boxes, and clean laundry- I have ALREADY FOLDED! AHHHHHHHHHH! It drives me crazy but it is so cute to watch her cuddle and hug clean laundry! She also has some weird obsession with wet wipes. She loves to carry them around and wipe her face, hair, my face,my arms and my clothes. I always look like I have taken a pee in my pants because she leaves these wet spots on me.
We have made two recent trips to the park and I can't say it enough that kid is DOG CRAZY. I call her a "dog head" because it is all she talks about. She talks about dogs from the moment she wakes up until she goes to bed. Well, Tom Sawyer has a dog park. It is a park especially built for dogs. It was so cute. They have fire hydrants, waters dishes, poop baggies, and a huge area for the dogs to be unleashed to run around with other dogs. Let me just say Addison was in dog heaven- she stood at the fence waving, squealing, and telling the doggies "HI". It was so cute.
She has become quite the little greeter too! She says "hi" to everyone. She will see someone in a store and say "hi" as loud as she can. I love that she is friendly and it does strike up a lot of conversation with strangers ,but it worries me a little. I want her to be friendly but not too friendly that she would just go with someone. I know she wouldn't now because she does have the stranger anxiety with some people. It is weird she is more shy and timid with men-which right now, that is fine by me-boys have cooties-except Hayden and Aidan-they are cool- OK and Daddy, Poppie, Paw Paw, Uncle Sean, Uncle Jeff and Uncle Keith-they are pretty cool too! I feel so bad because we went to the Doctor for her 15 month shots( she is 21 pounds and 30 inches tall) and she is always so upset when she see the Doctor. She cries at him even before he gets both legs in the door. She gets even more upset when he has to examine her. I think maybe she associates him with pain because she always gets shots after he sees her. I don't know but we love Doctor Blair he is so nice and an all round good guy. I feel like he takes me seriously and tries to answer any questions I have. Most Doctors I have encountered in the past- I feel have on hand on the door the entire time. You can tell he cares for and about his patients.
Oh and for the record- I was totally right about Addison getting a tooth- FINALLY!!!! She got her third tooth. I found it on Sunday during a routine check up of her gums. This kids teeth are taking forever to grow in. Mom was so excited about Addison's tooth her and Poppie came to see it for themselves- maybe they didn't believe me cause we always talk about teething but never seem to have any teeth to back it up. Emily asked her Step Mom Tammy about the slow teething thing and she said it was fine and normal. She said it was a superstition that the slower they come in means the smarter they will be. At this rate we have the next Einstein on our hands!
