The Newest Family Member Arrives

Baby Isla is just now over a week old and I must say is the cutest little thing ever! I can't wait to get my hands on this little precious girl. We are so excited to have a girl cousin for Addison. Girl are few and far between on the Kuhn side of the family. Addison is the only girl in a sea of boyness. Congrats to the new parents and to Aidan who is going to be a great big brother. He can teach Addison everything he knows about being the big sibling.

Kayla Came To Play and Brightened Our Day!

Kayla and Jason stopped over one Sunday to see the progress made on the house (which is null as of lately). Which gave Addison, Kayla and myself a chance to play. We had a tea party, played babies, checked out the Doctor kit and even played hind and go seek. Kayla and I were always the hiders and Addison always the seeker. We really had a nice time together and it gave me an opportunity to take my mind off the nausea I have been experiencing. I know Addison just loves to have her cousins around to play with She get so bored with just me. Jason and Kevin made a pack to alternate weeks and help each other on work on basements. So looks like we will be seeing the Scott family more often. Which means I get to have some girl time with Danielle and Addison with Kayla!

The Kuhn's Go Pumpkin Picking

The second weekend of October the Kuhn families gathered again for some fall festivities. We went to Deere Farms in Indiana to go Pumpkin Picking. We had never been to Deere Farm only to Huber's but decided that this year a change was good. Huber's has become so commercialized, crowded and just plan busy. Deere Farms was more like what Huber's was when I was a kid. The kids had a blast. Hayden and Addison went sliding down a huge black hose, and played in a wagon filled with corn kernels. We all took a tractor ride through the woods and another ride to the pumpkin field. Addison was a bit disappointed over the fact there weren't any tiny pumpkins she could choose and pick up by herself. We finally found one that was good enough to join our other pumpkins at home. Grandpa graciously paid for everyones pumpkins and thus our pumpkin picking party was over. We headed to Rocky's on the river for some Fine Italian Dining . Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was time to say our goodbyes. Jeff, Dana, and Hayden had a football game to attend and Keith, Emily and Avery a trip to Bowing Green and me a date with a pillow and blanket. It was a perfect fall family day. Just more fond memories to store in my memory bank.

Costumes and Cousins

A few weeks ago all the Kuhn Cousin's headed to the Zoo for some trick-or-treating. Addison was dressed as Dorthy from the wizard of Oz, Hayden was Donald Duck, Avery was a Skunk and Landon a Chicken. They all looked so adorable. We walked through the Zoo gathering treats from the designated treat spots. We saw lots of Storybook Characters none of which frightened Addison in the least. We haven't met a character of mask that has frightened her yet. She cheerily posed with the characters for photos. Just so happens they had a Wizard of Oz characters, a yellow brick road, and the emerald castle. Addison followed the yellow brick road looking more like a munchkin then Dorthy.
Addison had to taste each treat she got. If I dared to say no a fit would arise. Sometimes it is just easier to pick my battles with her. In all honesty, she as been winning more and more since I have become pregnant. I just don't have the energy or patience to deal with it. I know, wonderful parenting skills but, hey you win some you loose some and I'm on the loosing end. We will see what she will get away with when the baby is actually here.
Hayden and Addison enjoyed collect their treats and looking at all the sights. Hayden liked shaking his tail feather inside the disco booth. Addison refused to dance, guess she had a shy moment which are few and far between.
Little Avery and Landon sat sweetly in their strollers people watching. Next year will be a different story all together. The two of them will be keeping up with Addison and Hayden.
After the Zoo we went to Gattiland and ate from their buffet. It always amazes me to watch Hayden, Landon and Avery eat. So nice to see kids actually enjoying different varieties of food. Addison has her select menu that she refuses to deviate from. After dinner we headed to Hillcrest Ave to enjoy the Halloween decorations. Not all the lights were turned on but, it was still fun experiencing it with Jeff, Dana, Hayden and Landon. Avery pooped out on us on the way there so they headed home. It was a busy long day for such little ones. We had a great time and hope to make this a tradition.

Rubb A Dubb Dubb Three In A Tub

Emily's sister so graciously had us over for dinner a few weeks ago. Addison enjoyed playing with James. They ate dinner together at a cute little table. They looked like they were on a miniature date :) After dinner and playing it was bath time. Addison was in major need of a bath so we thew Addison, James, and Avery in the tub for a scrub. They looked so cute in there all together playing toys.

GiGI's Giant Cupcake!

Some fellow jewelry gals and I got together for a dinner training. One of the girls brought GiGi's cupcakes for everyone. I love sweets so much but just looking at this thing kinda made me want to puke, and not due to pregnancy. I have never seen a larger cupcake with so much icing. I am not an icing person, never have been, I can do a tiny bit but globs of it make me ill. The cupcakes are absolutely beautifully made . The girls made me take one for myself and one for Addison. I decided I would share mine with Kevin. He and I made it a third of the way through and both were done. It was good but, the icing thing killed it for me. I knew someone would die when they saw this thing. After nap the next day I decided to let Addison open the cute little box the cupcake came in and her face was priceless. She said "Wow!" After taking the pictures I took the cupcake and took almost all the icing off. The way sugar goes through her vein she would have been bouncing off the wall for days. She loved it as I knew she would. My little sweets addict.

Eating Good = Ice Cream

Mom, Addison, Kevin and I went to eat at Tony Boom Bozz Pizza for dinner one night. It is no secret that my child doesn't like to eat but on occasion she does surprise us this night was one of these times. She devoured an entire personal pan all by herself. We made a huge deal about it hoping it would encourage her to eat good-which it hasn't but hey, one can dream. As a reward she got vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. She was more then delighted to get ice cream. She licked the entire bowl clean. She even shared with Grammy. Funny how she can always manage to choke down dessert but good food is just torturous . Kevin says he hasn't ever been a good eater so she inherited this from him. Maybe this next baby will be a good eater like its momma!

Addison Gets Her Wish

For the longest time Addison decided she wanted to be a big sister. Kevin and I on the other hand, weren't so sure we were ready. We managed to begin demo on our house and get it to the point where we could live here and in the midst of all this, low and behold we are pregnant. Didn't expect things to happen so soon but it's Gods timing which is always perfect.
Things are completely different this time around. My mood is all over the place, I'm exhausted, feel sick- a lot, and just keep looking forward to feeling the baby move and having more energy. I'm pretty convinced this baby is a boy, which for me will be an adjustment, but a good adjustment non the less. Addison is so excited about being a big sister. She is the one who told the news to family. She calls the baby "my baby". She tells me all the things she is going to do with the baby, feed, change diapers (score for me), take the baby for walks and the baby is sleeping in her bed. Sounds like she will be a mini mommy.
I can't imagine how the dynamics of this family are going to changes but, it is just more love to give, more fun times, and the joys of watching a sweet baby grow into a sweet toddler. I'm so looking forward to cuddling a sweet little baby and rocking him or her. I'm right at 13 weeks and excitedly anticipating finding out the gender my philosophy is whenever you find out it is a surprise because you didn't know before the ultrasound and I like to know what I'm in for :) It will be nice to have the next 7 months to spend with just Addison and do some fun things before our threesome becomes a foursome. Just s glad Addison finally gets her wish!
