I scared the pants off of her- literally!

I was chatting on the phone the other day and I happened to glace over at Addison, who had been sitting quietly on the floor playing blocks. She was stripped down to her diaper due to the chili dinner we had just eaten. I was shocked at what I saw.... Addison had put her jeans on all by herself! Granted they were backwards, nevertheless she put them on all by herself. I have noticed her wanted to do and try more things independently which is awesome. When I saw Addison with her pants on I scream "Oh my gosh Kevin look". Addison thinking she had done something wrong quickly took the pants off. I don't know what came over me. I couldn't hide my enthusiasm! I'm so proud of my little girl.

She Finally Said It!!!

For practically her whole life we have been training Addison to say Grandma and it has always come out "mom mom". Finally a few days ago she said Grandma perfectly. It was music to my ears. Grandma isn't an easy word to say, so of course I'm very proud! We have been sick so Grandma hasn't had an opportunity to her that sweet little voice say her name except over the phone. I love hearing all of the new words she can say. Each day is a new adventure. I thank God for these beautiful moments. Shear joy is all I can describe them as. Being a mom is the best!

Helmet for My Basa

Safety First!

I picked up an infant carrier for my bicycle the other day for a whopping $6 at the Goodwill. I had priced them at retail stores for 50+ dollars. I was schmoozing around the GW and happened upon one. Addison has a fascination with bicycles here lately and I thought she would really enjoy riding with Kevin and I. So last night Kevin attached the seat to my bicycle. Addison was thrilled to ride on the back of my bike. We rode just a short distance and she kept kicking me in the rear end and kept hugging my back. I love feeling those sweet little arms around me and even those little legs kicking my butt. Everyone needs a good kick in the butt sometimes! I was nervous to ride her around too far without a helmet. We went to Target and they had a Dora Helmet with knee pads, so you know I had to buy it. She wore the helmet the whole way home. She was very proud to show it to Kevin. I kept telling her it was to protect her Cabasa which is Spanish for head. She kept saying, "basa basa".

Pooh takes the backseat to Dora

So what was once Pooh Pooh Pooh is now Dora Dora Dora. It cracks me up how Addison gets these little obsessions. The girl definitely knows what she likes. This week it is still Apple Jacks and Dora. OK, so maybe I'm weird but when I was younger, I thought my stuffed animals had feelings and if I played with or slept with one I thought the others would feel sad. I can only imagine how Pooh must feel. I'm sure with time will come more favorites but for now it is Dora the Explorer, Boots Monkey, Back Pack, Map and Swiper the Fox.

The Artist in Addison

Addison painted her first masterpiece the other day. She really loved painting. She loved doing new things. I could tell she felt like a big shot. Who knows maybe she will be a famous artist someday. No matter what she decides to be *within reason* her Mommy and Daddy will be there loving and supporting her all the way.

The Neurologist says Addison is A- O. K.

Good News! The Neurologist said Addison is OK. Praise the Lord! I have been in non stop worry mode since May over this staring thing. The EEG revealed she isn't having seizures and that everything looks good. We talked with the Neurologist for a long time. We told her our concerns and she set our minds at ease. She was impressed with Addison and how well and how much she talks. It was so crazy the room we waited was the DORA ROOM! Addison was in hog heaven. Everything was Dora from the light switch to the border. There were Dora stickers, Drawer pulls, dolls, and Dora was on TV during the appointment. It was so nice to be surrounded with Addison most favorite thing. It helped her to be more agreeable and it helped me relax. The appointment went so well. The Neurologist was so nice and just loved Addison. She said Addison made her want to have a little girl. All the girl in the office really enjoyed Addison. She is super friendly and very chatty these days mostly about Dora. We only had one problem..... In the Dora room there was a plush Dora doll that Addison latched onto. I mean I couldn't get this kid to put her down. I have had a hard time finding a soft plush Dora doll they are all hard plastic and just gross. Well Addison refused to put the doll down in the room so I told her she would have to give her to the receptionist. Well when it became time to leave her Addison cried and cried. I asked where they got her and the receptionist gave her to Addison. Isn't that so nice? I about cried. I didn't ask so she would give her to us I honestly was going to find that doll at some store somewhere. I just thought it was so nice of them to give her the doll. We brought Dora home and washed her real good and Addison hasn't let go of her since. It's just Addison, Pooh and Dora. I guess we will see what the future brings hopefully it is nothing but health, wealth and lots of love. We are so blessed. Thanks for everyone on going love, support and prayers. We have the most wonderful family and friends.

Daddy and Addi Weekend

This was the very first time in 19 months I have spent the night away from Addison. It was a Girls weekend on my Aunt Mary's boat. I had a very good time hanging out with my Aunts, cousins, and mom- oh and Uncle Denny too!. It was my very first time on a house boat. It was such a nice boat. The only weird thing is you can't flush your toilet paper down the toilet, you have to throw it in the trash can- eewww. It is a very hard habit to break especially when you have had a few drinks. I managed not to forget but, some people had to fish toilet paper out of the toilet. It was nice to have a break from chasing Addison but honestly I missed her and Kevin like crazy. I love my two babies the big one and the little one! Kevin did a great job playing Mommy and Daddy. He knows how particular I am about Addison's clothes and hair, so he tried extra hard to make her look cute. He told me he had her all dolled up to go to dinner Friday night. He went to Mike Lennings with his Grandpa, Deanna, and Paul. Addison's dinner consisted mostly of bread and ketchup.Yummy!!!

On Saturday, Addison and Kevin went to Peter, Kevin's cousin's, 30th surprise party. Addison went swimming with her uncle Keith and Kevin. She also got to spent some special time with her aunt Emily. Aunt Emily changed Addison's diapers, took care of her and fed her some yummy cake. I'm glad she got to have special time with Kevin. It is so important for a girl to have some alone time with her Daddy and it is important for Mommy to have some alone time so she won't go insane. The time away although short made me realize how much I love and cherish my family. It also made me realize how much fun it is to hang with my mom, aunts and cousin. We really know how to have fun! It was great talking about Nana and celebrating her life, If it weren't for her and Paw Paw none of us would be here! There definately will be another girls weekend but next time I'm bringing an eye mask and ear plugs!

Addison gets a pedicure

At breakfast on Sunday, grandma gave Addison a pedicure. She clipped her toenails and then painted her tiny toe nails pink. They are so darn cute. I'm sure you are wondering how we got her to sit still. Well grandma put her in the high chair and gave her a Popsicle to keep her busy. I held one foot and grandma held the other and we blew and blew until they were dry. It was silly but fun, i have been dying to see her little toes painted since she was born. I want to do so many fun girly things with her. I love having a girl. She is so much fun. Ask me when she is a teenager if I still feel the same way.

Yogi, Boo Boo, and Pooh have a picnic

It was a beautiful day and I thought what a perfect day for Addison and I to share a picnic. Addison was super excited about the picnic. I kept trying to explain to her we were going outside, under the tree, spread out a blanket, sit down, and have a yummy lunch. I think maybe she understood it better when I said, "eat outside". She helped me find a basket, a sheet, and she helped choose the food for our very first picnic together. She carried the sheet into the kitchen and the basket to the door. She is a wonderful helper! The weather was cool and sunny. We sat under the maple tree and enjoyed our picnic lunch. Addison ate very well. I thought she may be too preoccupied with outside to eat, but she gobbled up her food. We had peanut butter sandwiches, strawberries, chips, and water. It was a very special time for us both and I think Pooh had fun also. I love being there to experience Addison's firsts. I'm always looking for new and fun things to do with her.

Sean Is My Uncle!

My Mom has been working with Addison to say family members names and how they are related to her. We say all of her Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and grandparents. She likes to skip saying "is" and goes straight for "my". In the video she is saying, "Sean is my Uncle". I love hearing her sweet little voice. She is a major chatter box lately. She is already putting together two and three words. She impresses me on a daily basis. I love watching her personality emerge (most of the time)! Being a Mom is such a rewarding job. I can't wait for Emily and Keith to have their baby so they can have the same experiences and can tells us all about what their little boy is doing each week. I can't wait for Addison to have two new baby cousins. She loves babies! It will be neat to see Hayden as a big brother. The dynamics of the Kuhn family are really going to change and I'm ready to hold the new babies and give them lots of love and kisses!

Sharing an ice cream sandwich with Da Da

Addison and Da Da shared the very last ice cream sandwich we had at the house. It was adorable! She loves to share her food with Mommy, Da Da and Pooh. She just gets sweeter each day. I love love love that little girl!

Dora The Explorer and Apple Jacks on the Side Please

So the new thing around this house is Dora The Explorer. Addison can't get enough of it. I put it on one morning during breakfast and she was hooked. She really loves Boots, Dora's Monkey. I was pretty against TV at first, but after watching her trying to say Spanish words I don't see the harm in educational TV. I don't believe in using TV as a babysitter, but with limits TV isn't so bad.
Another new favorite is Apple jacks cereal. She asks for "Jacks" every morning as soon as she wakes. So everyday begins with Dora and Jacks. The other day in K-mart Addison saw a box of Apple jacks and would not stop saying Apple Jacks.I mean over and over again. So I had to get her some "jacks. She wanted to eat them right away. I had to pry the box from her to pay for them. We get to the car and I realized I didn't have a bowl put them in. This child was hungry and really wanting some jacks. I had to pull out some MacGyver stuff to please her. I had a fabric bag that holds sunglasses. The cloth bag became a make shift bowl. I filled the bag to the top and she sat quietly in the back chomping jacks the whole way home. Sometimes you just do what you have to do to please your kids.
