She Speaks My Language

Addison can speak my most favorite language.... the language of LoVe. De De taught her the sign for I love you and she has been bound and determined to perfect the sign. She mostly practices it in the car because that is usually when she and De De say their goodbyes and use the sign most, in the car before we leave where ever it is we are at the time. She gets so excited every time she can mold those tiny little fingers into the correct formation to make the sign for I love you. She will gleefully say, "I did it". Well, the other day she was in the backseat perfecting her sign and she said, "I did it mom". (Yeah I know, she calls me MOM. Already, I'm Mom. I was hoping to at least to make it to Middle School before I became known as MOM. She even says it like a teenager, like oh mom you don't know anything and I have it all figured out.) So I turned around to see her with just her middle finger sticking up(let me just interject here and say that she didn't learn this sign from myself or anyone else it was just an accident while trying to do her sign). I told her no she didn't have the sign quit right and that isn't a sign she should show De De. Next thing you know I will be blamed for teaching my child to flip her Grandma the bird. Kids... they never miss a beat.

Addison has been super loving lately. I don't know if it is because she missed us so much while we were in Las Vegas or because it is springtime and love is in the air or what. When we left she could take me or leave me. All my kisses would be wiped off and to get any type of affection from her required me chasing her and literally making her hug me. Since we got back she and I are major buds. She tells me she loves me( which melts my heart) she says I'm the best mom in the whole world ( which Grammy taught her to say), she will say we are best friends and she has been giving lots of hugs and kisses. Maybe absence made the her heart grow fonder.Whatever the case may be, I am loving all the nice attention I have been getting from her lately. Of course, her Daddy is number one but I will settle for any number as long as I get some lovin.
