So there has been a lot of anticipation over Addison's first day of school and the day finally arrived. I was probably more nervous then she was but the day went off with no tears from either of us. I thought I was going to be a big blubbering mess but things went fast and smoothly. We dropped Addison off as a family. I really wanted Kevin and Mason there with me to bid Addison farewell. We walked in and did the morning routine- hang up backpack and coats, put folder in basket, place lunch box in its place, and move the clothes pin from absent to here. I thought I wouldn't like getting out with Mason and walking her into school each morning but I actually really enjoy seeing her off to school each morning. It gives me piece of mind making sure she is in school, in her classroom safe and sound.
I'm very pleased with the school we chose. I have seen a huge difference in her behavior. She loves school, loves her teacher and classmates. She is already learning so much. The other day she got in the car and said r.e.d. spells red. She is recognizing letters which I had already taught her some. She can write the letter "T". She knows Spanish colors. My favorite thing she has learned is the pledge. She knows every word. The first time she said it she said "One Dalmatian under God". My mom and I got a big kick out of it, but now she knows the correct way to say it.
I'm excited to go on field trips and help with parties. I feel very blessed to be able to provide Addison with the opportunity to go to school and get a head start on her education. Learning comes easy to her. I see a bright future ahead of Addison.
